Kullu Temple theft used social media and google maps to trace the perpetrator A centuries old idol of Lord Rama, which had been stolen from the Rajhunath Ji temple, was very skilfully recovered by the Himachal Pradesh Police and restored to its former glory. The operation was executed with due diligence and appropriate use of technology. The Himachal Pradesh Police showed great dexterity in assimilating the fact real quick and tracking down the culprit. Every possible angle was weighed in including CCTV footages. The investigation led to the identification of the perpetrator. The man had also stolen other priceless arti-facts along with the idol.

World leads by examples and Brijesh Kumar Chaubey has shown the other side of police service and performed his duty of being a custodian of the society. Serving at the Police training school ,at that time PC/88 Brijesh Kumar Chaubey was on sentry duty, he met Ram Jeevan in distress. He was hapless and looking for assistance in a land far away from home. A resident of U.P. Ram Jeevan came to Andaman 18 years back when he was 20 years old.
He was working there as a labourer and pulling daily wages as he did not have academic qualifications. He revealed in his conversation that he was from a village called ‘SaraiyaSaani‘, U.P. and desired to go back there.PC/88 Brijesh Kumar Chaubey in consonance with his oath to serve the nation and its people took up the cause to help this man reach home to his family. He smartly navigated through internet and used technology is a very fruitful fashion to help a man in need. He got in touch with the manager of Allahabad Gramin Bank, located adjacent to the village of SaraiyaSaani. Co-incidentally the cashier of the bank, Mr.
Avasthi, was also from that village. He linked Brijesh Kumar Chaubey with Raam Jeevan‘s family. Raam‘s family was made aware of the fact that their son is still alive. Brijesh Kumar was convinced that is on the right track and didn‘t give up pursuit.
Coming from a poor backgroungand a backward caste they never had enough money to buy Raamplane tickets. Brijeshkumar and his friends arranged for Raam Jeevan‘s air tickets and from Kolkata to Varanasi. Shri GP Mishra who is the Police temple priest was co-incidentally leaving for Varanasi on Brijesh Kumar Chaubeys‘s request agreed to take Raam Jeevan along with him. He agreed to get Raam Jeevan till Benaras Railway station. In this case as well the police department was strong and steadfast on the lines of duty.On the preceding night of 15/7/15, information received at around 3:30 a.m. that the wall of RCC Building has collapsed due to land slide. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot immediately and was efficiently rescuing the buried people but despite of their hard efforts the lives of some of the buried people could not be saved, the police team has worked hard to clear the debris in spite of the heavy rain. Ziro PS Case No. 61/14 U/S 325/302 IPC and Ziro PS Case No. 63/14 U/S 376(1)/325/34 IPC R/W Section 4 OF POCSO ACT, 2012. The constitution in its preamble guarantees right to life liberty and equality and to protect all these basic fundamental rights it has through is premises and statues given arms like the Indian Police Service. A teenage boy and a girl were sitting in a dilapidated building of the Govt. Higher Secondary school, Ziro on 5/10/2014 night.
Two unidentified men entered the same area and beat up the boy and under intimidation raped the girl by turn and left the place of occurrence after robbing the mobile phone of the boy. The boy was evacuated to Itanagar for medical treatment but he died there before medical treatment. Hence, Ziro PS Case No. 61/14 U/S 325/302 IPC and Ziro PS Case No. 63/14 U/S 376(i)325/34 IPC R/W section 4 of POCSO Act 2012 were registered. The case was investigated by SI T.Messar and SI IgeLollen. This case had very few leads and was a tough one to crack .
Pressure was mounting on police and administration from women organization, youth organization, student organization and even form State Women Commission of Arunachal Pradesh. The police team starteda combing operation in the entire Hapoli area and rounded up many suspected persons and interrogated but in vain. The police team led by SP on his resuming duties on 12/10/2014 was restlessly re-working on the case, pieced together all the little and apparently insignificant evidences and ultimately the team zeroed in on the two accused persons and arrested them on 14/10/2014. On interrogation the said persons broke down and admitted to having committed the crime .
The aggrieved family members of Lt HageHassang led by his father HageRicho and mother Smti. HageYabyang met SP Ziro Shri TummeAmo, OC PS Ziro, IO of case and all the police personnel, who took pain in arresting the accused and expressed their thankfulness to the District Police. She stated that her parents expired during her childhood and she was residing with her aunt (Bua) namely Reshma Devi in a village near Patna (Bihar). She does not know anything about it. The behaviour of her aunt was not good and due to that she ran away from there and came at Chandigarh by train. One lady namely Bimla met her at Chandigarh Railway Station and took her at her house at # 248, VillBehlana. At that time lady namely Bimla was in her family way and she started living with her at her home. Complainant used to call Bimla as sister and brother in law to her husband namely Blister. She further stated that at night time when Bimla go asleep, her husband Blister Singh use to come on complainant‘s bed and started touching her private parts.
Thereafter, he started making physical relations with her and raped her continuously. He also threatened her if she will disclose about this to any one, he will kill her. She tried to take help from the persons passing through the house and on 11.06.2016 someone informed at Child line 1098. On receiving the information, police party reached on the spot. Policing is not only enforcement of law and order but also aims at a higher purpose of social welfare and correction. This betterment helps a society as a whole to become more safe and pro-growth. A rescueoperation titled "OPERATIONMUSKAN" for tracing the missing/ kidnappedchildren has been conceptualized by the Government. In this case it was carried out by AHTU, Crime Branch for the victims from Agra who went missing since 2007 from Nerul. One such victim‘s account information was received and a case was registered on 06/07/2015 at Nerul Police Station. A 21-member‘s Navi Mumbai Police team, under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, PrabhatRanjan and aided by the senior officers of Crime Branch planned the rescue mission "OPEARTION MUSKAN". The team had got in touch with the area‘s senior officers in Agra and with the help of local police on 01/08/2015 raided Kashmiri bazar‘s brothels (kothas) rescuing 20 victims girls and arrested four accused. This crime was registered at Nerul Police Station vide c.r.no. I 193/2015 u/s 363,328,344,504,506(2) IPC and u/s 3,4,5,7 POCSO Act. Preferences was be given for those who are suffering from Cancer, Kidney, Liver, Lungsdisease. District Police Chief, Kannur and DySupdt. Of Police, Special Branch are the Chairmanand Vice Chairman respectively of this scheme. The fund for this is accumulated by way ofcontributions collected from entire staff of Kannur district police including District Police Chief.The scheme was formally inaugurated by Sri. Ramesh Chennithala, Hon‘ble Minister for Home &Vigilance, Government of Kerala on 15-02-2015. The request for financial assistance may besent to District Police Chief, Kannur. All the applications received will be scrutinized and a list ispublished every month. The subcommittee formed under DySupdt. Of Police, Special Branch,Kannur is authorized to conduct enquiry on the applications and to find out the deservingpersons. The application once rejected will not be entertained again. The scheme is only forthe persons from Kannur district. NAGALAND POLICE BAGGED "NATIONAL AWARD FOR SMART POLICING"
Nagaland Police is proud to announce that it bagged the ongoing e-governance ‘National Award for Smart Policing‘ for its SMS based Vehicle Monitoring System (NPSVMS). The award for the ‘Best Practice in the category of Road Safety and Traffic Management‘ was presented to Nagaland Police by Minister of state for Home Affairs, HaribhaiParathibhai Chaudhary at a function held at FICCI auditorium in New Delhi on Friday. Nagaland Police was among the six state polices selected, for making presentations on the best smart policing initiatives across the country after the award ceremony. The Jury chaired by former Home secretary G.K. Pillai includes-- ManjariJaruhar, (former Special DG, CISF), N. Ramachandran, (former DGP Meghalaya), Alok Bansal, (director, India Foundation), Milan Narendra, (director- government advisory services, EY). Vehicular theft is becoming a matter of serious concern for the State and law enforcing agencies. Moreover, with the ever increasing number of vehicles on our streets, the cases of such thefts and losses only indicate a rising trend where such stolen vehicles are often used for criminal activities. In order to address this issue, Nagaland Police has developed an IT system in the form of Nagaland Police SMS Based Vehicle Monitoring System (NPSVMS) under the following objectives: Maintaining a common repository of vehicle information. Providing an SMS gateway to disseminate this information to field personnel quickly. Broadcast emergency messages to checkposts and duty patrols. Provide SMS helpline to the public for quick reporting of vehicular thefts. All motor vehicle owners are requested to register their vehicles with the NPSVMS. RESCUE OF A WOMAN AND HER CHILD UNDER DISTRESS An initiative of the central government which has been integrated into the schedule of active policing. This project is aimed at guaranteeing child rights in the country. Not falling far away from the cause Puducherry Police laid out the blue print for ‘Operation Muskaan‘. It was launched in Puducherry in the month of July. As a part of the operation, public places like Railway Station, Bus Stand, Beach, Temples, Roadside platforms, etc., were visited by a dedicated team of CB CID officers of Puducherry to rescue abandoned street children. During the operation, 13 abandoned Street children were rescued.
After producing them before the Child Welfare Committee, they were lodged at Child Care Home. The parents of the children were traced and they were handed over to their parents through Child Welfare Committee. During the operation on 18.07.2015 at about 12.30 hrs, near the platform of SubbiahSalai, near Fire Service Station, Puducherry the CB CID Police team noticed a female, aged about 20 years behaving in a disorderly manner with a 5 month old female baby. The CB CID Police team rescued both the Woman and Child and produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Puducherry. The said women stated to be one Sunala speaking Pijapuri language (address and place of origination not known) was lodged at the Fathima Convent, Puducherry and the child was handed over at Cluny SishuBhavan, Puducherry as directed CWS, Puducherry.
Since, the woman was behaving in a disorderly manner, she was taken to JIPMER Hospital, Puducherry for medical intervention. It was diagnosed that she was suffering from psychosis. The Psychiatrist informed that, if the child was allowed to remain with the said woman, she could have killed the child, as she is in acute stage of mental depression. She is still under psychiatric treatment. Due to the rescue operation by CB CID team, both the woman and the child have survived and are in the safe hands. Amdanga PS Ensuring social well fare and overall well being is also another task of the Police force. In playing the perfect guardian to the community Amdanga PS had organized a prescreening camp on 15.11.15 for the patients suffering from the problem called, cleft with a view to get them operated and to help them to smile without any problem with the help of Mission Smile, an N.G.O. of repute. Later on free operation was arranged for them. Such effort from the end of Police Administration was peerless, according to the local people. This is needless to mention that this initiative had helped a lot to build up relation with the community and improve the perception of police with not just the disciplinarian but also the guardian of the society.
Barasat PS
In order to strengthen police public relationship, officers ofBarasat PS worked relentlessly and organized several meetings with the clubs existing in all 35 words of Barasat Municipality and subsequently formed Barasat Thana Club Sammonoy Committee. Under the banner of the said Barasat Thana Club Sammonoy Committee, on 06.12.15 a colorful procession involving all the clubs numbering about 260 having a strength of about 5000 persons participated in the said Rally. The main message of the Rally was to increase awareness of people from the devastation of Global Warming. Awareness in respect of Traffic rules and regulation are also displayed through tablo‘s.
